Crescent is a solitaire card game which is played using two decks of standard 52-cards set. The name of this game is derived from the setup of tableau cards which is arranged in a crescent like formation. The aim of Crescent Solitaire is to move all cards to the foundation by arranging 4 foundations in ascending order of Ace to King and remaining 4 foundations in descending order of King to Ace.
Initially four Aces and four Kings of different suits are taken out and dealt to 8 foundations which are then built by suit.
Remaining 96 cards are dealt in 16 piles of 6 cards each. These piles are arranged in a Crescent like formation. Only top cards in the crescent piles are available for play. Cards in the crescent are played up as well down by suit. Ranks can be rolled which means King can be played on Ace and Ace can be played on King.
Empty crescent pile can not be filled with any card. Cards from foundation piles are also allowed to be moved to a crescent or foundation pile.
The game has a shuffle option which brings bottom card of each pile in the crescent to top. Sequence of other cards are not changed. This shuffle option can be used 3 times in the game.
